History of Witten LLP.

WITTEN LLP has its roots in the 1920s when the late Abe W. Miller, Q.C. opened an office in downtown Edmonton. Through orderly and planned growth we grew to become the WITTEN LLP law firm of today, with approximately 40 lawyers and 50 support staff. Careful recruiting ensures these individuals come from diverse, yet complementary backgrounds and have a strong sense of commitment to the community. The result is a firm that provides each of our clients with experience and expertise in a wide range of legal areas.

Our lawyers devote time and effort in support of charitable, educational, political and community endeavors and organizations as part of our ongoing commitment to the community. Former partners of our firm have moved on to prominent roles in Canadian industry, the judiciary, The Law Society of Alberta and the University of Alberta. WITTEN LLP's current partners are actively involved in the community through local government, public service directorships and as members of charitable, service and political boards and agencies.

WITTEN LLP also has a strong commitment to legal education. Our lawyers serve as lecturers at the Faculty of Law and frequently present papers and lectures at legal education seminars for lawyers and industry. Our clients find that our long-standing background in business law blends with an aggressive contingent of litigation lawyers to create a balanced, dynamic and highly responsive firm.
