Witten LLP is currently seeking a Legal Assistant with senior level experience to join our team. We offer competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a friendly, inclusive, team-oriented environment.
The Legal Assistant with a proven track record of experience will work within a busy solicitors practice involving Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate, Gaming and Indigenous law. Experience in work with Indigenous clients is an asset, as well as accreditation in CORES.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing documents and correspondence relating to various Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate, Gaming and Indigenous law matters.
- Communicating with clients, counsel, and service providers.
- Managing electronic calendars and diary system.
- Monitoring and maintaining file progress and responding to general correspondence.
- Electronic and physical file organization.
- All day-to-day administrative/clerical tasks including billing, opening/closing files, filing, photocopying, scanning.
- Working with the Accounting department on day-to-day financial management tasks in the nature of wire transfers and trust account updates and reports to clients.
- Working with the Corporate department on annual reporting and document execution by clients via DocuSign and similar electronic document completion systems.

- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Able to effectively time manage, prioritize and multi-task.
- Reliable and accountable.
Other Knowledge:
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, DocuSign, Adobe.
- Experience in iManage, Acumin programs is an asset.
