Jacob A. Newbigging

Jacob Newbigging joined Witten LLP in September 2025 as an Articling Student. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2025, following a Bachelor of Arts with a major in political science and a minor in economics.

During law school, Jacob gained hands-on experience at Witten, working as a legal administrative assistant with our conveyancing team. He also contributed his time to the University of Alberta’s Student Appeals Committee and Student Legal Services. In 2019, Jacob represented his university as a delegate at the National Model United Nations. These experiences have helped him build a strong foundation for his articling year.

Outside of work, Jacob is an avid Edmonton Oilers fan and enjoys spending time outdoors golfing, cycling, playing pickleball, and skiing.
