David K. Cox, K.C.
Retired
Dave earned his B.A. and LL.B. (1975) at the University of Alberta. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1976 and was awarded the title of Queen’s Counsel in 2002. Prior to his retirement, Dave's practice focused primarily on business and corporate law, commercial and residential real estate, and secured lending as well as estate administration and planning.
Dave has been active in many community, charitable and conservation-based organizations including Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, the Garneau Tennis Club, and the Royal Glenora Club, and he is a five-year past president of the Rabbit Hill Ski Club. He has lectured and given presentations on corporate commercial and real estate law.
An avid sportsman, Dave has been active in alpine ski racing as racer, coach, and administrator and was formerly a highly ranked competitive tennis player. He spends a good part of each fall defending rural properties against depredations by wildlife. Dave’s favourite colour is camouflage, and he likes long walks in the woods (with a rifle) and moonlight boat trips (with a fishing rod).
