Ellery C. Lew
Ellery was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1991 after completing his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering (1987) at the University of Alberta and his LL.B. (1990) at the University of Toronto. A civil litigator, he focuses on commercial litigation, specifically intellectual property rights, licensing and franchise law, and claims involving fraud or mortgage fraud. He is also a trademark agent.
Ellery contributes to his field outside the office as well. He is the former co-chair and a long-standing member of the Intellectual Property Sub-Section of the Canadian Bar Association and was a contributing editor to the Franchise and Distribution Journal for over 8 years. He has been listed in The International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers since 2011 and The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, leading practitioners in Franchising since 2011. He is a member of the Canadian Franchise Association, Legal & Legislative Affairs Committee. He has also served on the boards of Camp BB-Riback and the B'nai Brith Youth Organization. He is currently the President of the Jewish Federation of Edmonton and a past UJA co-chair and has served on that board since 2010.
