Eric D. Young, K.C.

Retired

Until his retirement, Eric was an experienced lawyer with a practice substantially focused on representing major financial institutions in enforcing their security documentation and pursuing creditors rights. He also had an extensive practice in commercial and banking law. Eric was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1979 after graduating from the University of Alberta in 1978. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1998.

Eric served on the boards of the General Bank of Canada and the Telus Community Board, among others. He has a long history of community involvement including having served as President of the  Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, President of Northlands Park, Chairman of the Association of Alberta Colleges and Technical Institutes, and Chairman of the Board of Grant MacEwan University. He has lectured on numerous occasions for the Legal Education Society and the Canadian Bar Association.

In his spare time Eric can be found on the golf course or in the mountains.
